    Handoff

    A scheduled transfer of responsibility for an in-flight episode artifact from one team member to another.

    Each in-flight episode passes through 4–8 handoffs between recording and publish (editor → producer → host review → social → distribution → sponsor coordinator → final publish, etc.). Each handoff has a transfer point (where the artifact lives), a named recipient, and a status indicator. Handoff failure — the artifact gets stuck because the next person didn't know it was their turn — is the largest single cause of missed publish dates at scale.
