Distribution

    Distribution debt

The accumulated set of distribution opportunities (platforms, formats, derivative content) that should ship per episode but don't.

Modeled after engineering's 'technical debt' but for release operations. Each episode that ships without a transcript published to your web property is a deposit of debt — the SEO surface that could exist doesn't. Each episode without vertical clips is more debt. Distribution debt compounds: the back catalog gets less searchable, the social presence gets thinner, the upstream traffic to new episodes erodes. Healthy studios actively pay down distribution debt by re-rendering back catalog.
