    Buzzsprout integration

Auto-update episode details on Buzzsprout from each EpisodeOps release pack.

Short answer. Approve a release pack in EpisodeOps → episode details (title, description, chapter markers, tags) get written to your Buzzsprout episode automatically.

Buzzsprout is the most-used podcast host in the indie and small-team segment, with strong UX and a generous free tier. The pattern most Buzzsprout customers follow is: record → edit → upload audio to Buzzsprout → manually paste show notes from another tool → schedule. The manual paste is the bottleneck, and the place where small inconsistencies accumulate across episodes.

EpisodeOps's Buzzsprout integration handles the metadata write. You upload the audio to Buzzsprout as usual; EpisodeOps writes the title, description, chapter markers, episode notes, tags, and explicit flag from your approved release pack into the corresponding Buzzsprout episode.

    How it works

    1. Connect Buzzsprout

Generate a Buzzsprout API token in your Buzzsprout dashboard → paste into EpisodeOps Settings → Integrations.

    2. Match the EpisodeOps episode to its Buzzsprout draft

On approve, EpisodeOps lists your Buzzsprout drafts; click the right one to bind. Future episodes in the show auto-bind.

    3. Push on approve

The release pack writes to Buzzsprout. You schedule from inside Buzzsprout as normal — the episode just has all the right metadata when you arrive.

    Use cases

    Shows on Buzzsprout's free tier

Even on free tier, you can use the API. Most shows on free tier benefit most from this integration — they don't have producers to do the manual copy work.

    Migrating from Anchor / Spotify-Lite

Generating ~50 episode metadata records from old transcripts and pushing them to a new Buzzsprout show is a one-day project with EpisodeOps. Multi-week without it.

Co-hosted shows where the producer manages Buzzsprout

Producer approves in EpisodeOps and the right episode appears in Buzzsprout ready for the host's final review.

    Common questions

Does this work with Buzzsprout's CoHost AI?

Both tools generate show notes; EpisodeOps's tend to be more brand-voice-aligned because you set up the voice fingerprint per show. Choose whichever you prefer per episode — EpisodeOps writes its version into the description field, and you can override with CoHost output if you want to A/B.

Are chapter markers written via the API or RSS?

Buzzsprout reads chapter markers from the API; the RSS feed is generated server-side with PSC tags. Apple and Spotify then pick them up from the RSS. You don't have to do anything special.

Will this trigger a re-publish of an already-live episode?

Only if you explicitly re-approve the release pack and confirm the overwrite. The default is one-way write on first approve.
