Apple Podcasts integration
Sync chapter markers, transcripts, and episode metadata to Apple Podcasts Connect.
Short answer. Push EpisodeOps-generated episode metadata, chapter markers, and transcripts to your Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard automatically.
Apple Podcasts remains the discovery default for ~30% of US listeners. The platform supports chapter markers (via PSC tags in the RSS feed), transcripts (since iOS 17.4), and rich metadata — most podcasters never use any of it because hand-formatting them is tedious. EpisodeOps generates each of those assets per episode and writes them to Apple Podcasts Connect through the supported APIs.
Transcripts in particular are now a significant SEO surface. Apple indexes them, and ChatGPT-style assistants increasingly cite Apple Podcasts transcripts as canonical sources for what was said on a show. Shipping a transcript per episode is no longer optional for shows that want discoverability.
How it works
1. Authenticate Apple Podcasts Connect
Connect your Apple ID inside Settings → Integrations. The integration uses an app-specific password — no shared credentials.
2. Confirm RSS feed source
EpisodeOps detects your host (Buzzsprout, Transistor, etc.) and confirms the RSS feed Apple is reading. Chapter markers ride the RSS feed via PSC tags; transcripts go through Connect directly.
3. Per-episode review
Each Release Pack shows the Apple-formatted preview before publishing. Approve, and EpisodeOps writes the chapters + transcript + metadata to Connect.
Use cases
Shows that want Apple's built-in transcripts
Apple's auto-generated transcripts are decent. EpisodeOps's are better and let you control speaker names, edits, and chapter alignment.
Family-friendly shows managing explicit tags
Episode-level explicit flags route through EpisodeOps so a guest's salty language doesn't propagate to your whole show feed.
Networks publishing to multiple Apple regions
Localized titles and descriptions per region from one workspace, instead of duplicating the show in Connect.

Common questions
Do I still need a podcast host with this integration?
Yes. Apple Podcasts reads your RSS feed; the feed comes from your host (Buzzsprout, Transistor, Captivate, etc.). EpisodeOps writes the metadata that makes the feed richer, but doesn't replace hosting.
How do Apple transcripts compare to EpisodeOps transcripts?
Apple's are auto-generated and improving. EpisodeOps's are higher-accuracy (Deepgram Nova-2) with diarization, and you control the version before it ships. Many shows use EpisodeOps's transcripts as the canonical version published to Apple.
Does this work with private podcasts?
Yes, with caveats. Apple Podcasts Connect supports private feeds via subscription mechanisms (Apple Podcasts Subscriptions). EpisodeOps writes the same metadata into those — the access control sits with Apple.
